Iceland Honeymoon Adventure // Kevin + Sarah

Sometimes it’s almost unbelievable how little details align, how timing is more perfect than you could have planned if you tried. Such was the case with this session coming to be. Not long after I booked my flight to Iceland, Sarah and I were chatting about how she and Kevin might be coming to Nashville in the spring around their anniversary. She mentioned they might want to do an anniversary photo session while they were here. “Oh, by the way, we finally booked our honeymoon to Iceland and England!” … turns out Sarah + Kevin had planned their honeymoon to begin right on the tail end of my time in Iceland and were able to adjust their plans by just one day so we could meet up and spend a day adventuring on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.

And let me tell you, this day was the stuff of actual dreams - the sun peeking out all day long (a rarity during winter Iceland) and setting more slowly than I’ve ever seen, glowing for what felt like hours just above the pastel horizon. If that weren’t enough, the hours were filled to the brim with good and interesting conversations, plenty of laughter and maybe a little deliriousness (these champs were running on the fumes of jet lag and still looking like models), endlessly mesmerizing landscapes, desperate runs down park paths to find what felt like the only toilet in a 50 mile radius, filling hungry bellies with bread bowls with warm Icelandic soup upon returning to civilization after dark, and getting to capture the pure, deep love these two share. I think it’s safe to say I won’t be forgetting this day any time soon.

I’m trying to take these slower, rainy winter days we’ve been having here in Nashville and focus on blogging some 2019 weddings and sessions and travel memories, so be on the look out for more soon!
